PLD | Settlement Price of Differences
Publicado em 18 de December de 2020
According to CCEE, the Brazilian energy market is mostly composed by hydroelectric plants. Thus, the PLD (Settlement Price of Differences) aims to maintain the balance between security (so that there is no lack of water in the energy generation process) and the price of energy.
The PLD covers the difference between what was consumed or generated and what was contracted through purchase and sale contracts. In addition, it settles the differences between contract and consumption or generation.
Thus one of the main functions of PLD is the accounting and settlement at CCEE, which values each surplus and each lack of energy per week, according to PLD. In addition, PLD is a reference for short-term negotiations.
