World Energy Day is celebrated on May 29th. The commemoration has been created in Portugal in 1981 and it seeks to draw people’s attention to the need of energy saving. In addition, it seeks to warn about the environmental impacts resulting from energy generation. Therefore, it is an opportunity to promote renewable energy.
Besides that, it is possible to note that efficient energy consumption is an important aspect to be considered, especially when we realized that:
- Electricity is present in 100% of companies, in addition to homes and commercial establishments;
- When compared to other developed countries, Brazil consumes more energy in the production of goods and services;
- In industries, electric motors are responsible for almost 70% of all electrical energy consumed in their processes.
According to CPFL, there are some ways to use energy efficiently which are:
- To use the electrical equipment correctly, lawfully and safely, following the instructions that are in the instructions;
- When purchasing a new equipment, remember to give preference to those with the INMETRO/PROCEL A efficiency seal;
- When renovating or designing your home or business, remember to use the most natural light and to paint the walls in light colors. Also, use appropriate electrical circuits and forms of water heating that are suitable to your needs.
Finally, on this World Energy Day, remember that each electrical appliance is responsible for a portion of the amount paid on your energy bill. Therefore, it is important to use them conscientiously, avoiding the waste of resources. By using electricity consciously and responsibly, you reduce energy costs and at the same time you help the country to preserve its ecological reserves, contributing to the preservation of life on the planet.
