According to the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) from the migration of the industry to the 4.0 concept there should be a considerable reduction in costs. Thus, according to ABDI, the annual estimate of reduction in industrial costs in Brazil will be at least R$ 73 billion per year. Of this amount, R$34 billion refer to the reduction in machine maintenance costs and R$7 billion are related to energy savings.
An article published by the Brazilian Association of Industrial Internet points out that one of the main trends for 4.0 Industry is Energy Sustainability. In this sense intelligent sensors allow the optimization of equipment power use and besides that, accurate consumption data can be reported. Thus, it is possible to reduce the time between events and the availability of information for management decision making. This is the main objective of 4.0 Industry: to improve competitiveness through faster information for actions execution.
