Tips to save energy in the winter
Publicado em 9 de July de 2021
The winter starts today and with the low temperature energy bills get higher due to the use of home appliances at full power. According to Eletrobrás the most expensive equipments are: air conditioning, refrigerator, electric shower, lighting, television, iron and washing machine. To prevent the electricity bill from reaching the heights, we’ve brought you some tips to save energy:
The shower is one of the villains in the winter period and consumes on average 30% more energy than on hot days. You should try to schedule the bath for early or late afternoon when temperatures are milder and to reduce bathing time. Clothes dryers are activated more often and for longer, consuming between 120 and 150 kWh per month if used once a day. To reduce consumption, choose more efficient models and use the machine only when there is the maximum amount of clothes.
- When using thermal heaters, keep doors and windows closed.
- Remember to accumulate a considerable amount of clothes and then use the electric iron. Iron the items that require lower temperatures first and avoid ironing when several electrical appliances are on at the same time.
- Wash clothes in the machine only when the basket is full. When washing clothes in the tank, turn off the faucet while soaping the items.
